They were silent, because their mother was stressed out because she was late....again. There may or may not have been some yelling, threatening to dock screen time, or putting a call into their father.
Even after twelve years of being a parent, I am still astounded by the way my kids soak up my attitude....feel my stress...react the way I do, good or bad. They look to me as their regulating force, whether they are conscience of it or not. The saying "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" is so true.
Needless to say, I pumped up the radio in the car at that point. And wouldn't you know a mini sermon was on during the commercial break of our Christian radio station.
Phil 2:5 ...........Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus
Oh, dear.
That was all I needed to hear.
My attitude towards my children, husband, and others should be one of gentleness, patience, self control, and above all have the heart of a servant.
It doesn't matter if I am late. It doesn't matter if the laundry was not put away. It doesn't matter if I don't feel well. It doesn't matter if someone or something is on my nerves. It doesn't matter is Season 2 of Downton Abby is not in my mail box. It doesn't matter if I forgot to make a call or reply to an email...........
My attitude should be the same as that of Jesus. Period.
and with that said.....HAPPY THURSDAY FRIENDS!!

Oh, my friend, thank you SO, SO much for this post! I needed to read this. I have to be a better example to my children. Sometimes I have to remember when they are acting a certain way, it is me who they are emulating and I don't like it a whole lot. I hope you are well! Hope you have a great weekend. :-)
